A Little Too Close to Home: Fire Injures 2 in Rossmoor

(Image: FreeDigitalPhotos.net)
Some Rossmoor residents had quite a scare on Monday when a fire broke out in their apartment building. Fortunately, the two people living in the unit above the origin of the blaze happened to be an off-duty CHP officer and Long Beach police officer. The two roommates awoke and, putting wet towels over their faces, evacuated the building.
Thanks to their quick thinking, only two people were injured. One was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and the other was treated at the scene.
The fire was severe enough that several of the building’s residents have been displaced, and required the assistance of the Red Cross.
It’s cases like this that make us so passionate about renters insurance. If these unfortunate renters had the right insurance, they might not have needed the help of the Red Cross. You wouldn’t think that something like this could happen in Rossmoor, but it did, and it won’t be the last time.
Please, for your own sake, take some time this week to talk to someone (preferably us; we know what we’re talking about) about renters insurance and find a policy that fits your budget and covers your needs.
